Engineering Surface Perfection, Step by Step

Every tolerance matters. Our process combines metallurgical expertise with tightly controlled finishing protocols to deliver surfaces that meet the most demanding specifications. From initial stock removal to final inspection, each stage is documented, measured, and repeatable — because your compone

Measured Results, Not Estimates

We don’t rely on operator feel or visual judgment alone. Every run is validated against customer-supplied specs using calibrated surface profilometers and dimensional gauging. If a part doesn’t meet tolerance, it doesn’t ship. That standard applies to first article and production runs equally.

Six Stages of Our Finishing Process

High-tolerance finishing isn’t a single operation — it’s a controlled sequence. Each stage below is engineered to build on the last, eliminating error accumulation and delivering consistent surface geometry across every part.

Material Assessment

Stage 01

Incoming stock is verified for alloy composition, hardness, and surface condition before any operation begins. Anomalies are flagged before they become downstream defects.

Rough Stock Removal

Stage 02

High-feed grinding removes bulk material while preserving geometric reference datums. Aggressive cuts are controlled to minimize thermal input and residual stress.

Precision Grinding

Stage 03

Finish grinding achieves target geometry within ±0.0001″ tolerances. Wheel selection, coolant flow, and feed rate are dialed in per material and spec.

Surface Conditioning

Stage 04

Controlled abrasive polishing refines Ra values to specification — whether you need a functional lay pattern or a mirror finish. No guesswork, no overpolishing.

Dimensional Inspection

Stage 05

Calibrated profilometers, CMM verification, and optical comparators confirm every critical dimension and surface parameter before parts advance to final stage.

Release & Documentation

Stage 06

Parts ship with full inspection records, including Ra readings, dimensional reports, and traceability data. Your QA team gets the documentation they need on arrival.
